The staff conducts characteristic analyses for each project that is connected to the realm of environmental science, such as: Geology, Hydrology, Geomorphology, and land conservation. In these management reports, complex hydrological analyses are conducted for the project site using models and programs such as GIS and HEC-RAS.<\/li><li>Planning for land conservation under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture and providing end solutions for agricultural areas suffering from land erosion.<\/li><li>Planning of longitudinal infrastructures for water and gas transportation, especially in terms of agricultural lands and stream crossings.<\/li><li>Reports for groundwater protection according to the instruction of the National Outline Plan 34 \u05d1 3. This shift in construction techniques works to direct and preserve runoff waters in the appropriate areas in order to preserve the integrity of our natural water sources. Cleaner construction techniques can help to recharge groundwater sources while reducing peak flow rates in drainage areas in such a way which reduces flooding and damage to stormwater infrastructures.<\/p><p>One major consideration, however, is that development includes industrial and commercial areas whose byproducts expel pollutants which threaten natural water sources. The PV farm is location in a sloped area whose runoff water flows to the Sdeh-Pekuah River, a tributary of the Besor River. The goal of this project is to observe the influence of solar farms on runoff flows and the subsequent ecological influences in the area. In the scope of the hydrological monitoring, an advanced monitoring station was built to monitor the flow and drop-size of the raindrops at a high-resolution. This work included surveys, analyses, and the preparation of hydrological and runoff management reports. This project exemplifies one of the greatest challenges that Israel faces regarding runoff management. The planned commercial district is located on red-loam soil which has a high infiltration rate, meaning that rainwater seeps readily into the groundwater. However, the development of this project is expected to drastically change the makeup of the landscape in the area, potentially significantly decreasing the amount of water permeating into the ground.  As part of the runoff management plan, we examined the existing conditions of the site and the potential environmental consequences of establishing the commercial district. By viewing runoff as a resource rather than a nuisance, we examined the flow of water throughout the watershed as a whole, including the uppers areas of the watershed which would funnel runoff to the site as well as the lower basin which could be affected by the project.   Recommendations for urban runoff management included advanced solutions which adapt the characteristics of the project to the natural physical attributes of the soil and natural areas. Proposed solutions included the implementation of living roofs, designated infiltration pits, rainwater retention areas on landscaped stretches, pervious surfaces in the parking lots, and a landscaped water retention zone in the lowest area of the plot. All these elements will serve to preserve the existing volume of water that infiltrates into the groundwater by utilizing the natural runoff flows to develop the landscaping plans. Along the Tabor River near Kefar Kish, such a mission was conducted by Geo Teva. The goal of this project was to define the river\u2019s impact boundaries and flood plains in order to protect the river, agricultural lands, and future development. This section of the river described in this project was that of the Eitan stream whereby exists a constant flow of water. This section comprises an interface between agricultural lands and natural areas. Within the larger Tabor watershed as well as the smaller Eitan stream, the hydrological and ecological properties of the watershed were examined. The various natural areas existing along the river were defined and used to inform the land designations. Next, a model was used to calculate the proper flood plains needed to protect development and agricultural lands during 1 in 10-year rain events were carried out to recommend appropriate land designations. The results of this model were then cross-examined with other statutory land designations as well as infrastructure already existing in the field. As a result of the work conducted, the recommendations were submitted for the maintenance and protection of the relevant areas along the river and in the surrounding watershed. Guidelines for good practice during installation of infrastructure crossing the river were submitted to aide in the preservation of ecological and hydrological elements of the area. The infrastructure lines cross areas defined according to the National Outline Plan \u05d0 34 \u05d1' 4 as areas with groundwater sensitivity Level 2. As such, we were requested to organize the report for the protection of ground waters in accordance with the National Outline Plan.  This report defined in great detail the underground hydro-geology for the field of the project and performed an analysis of the level of danger of contamination for natural underground water sources. Additionally, the report recommended the secondary use of runoff taken from the project site to the water attenuation ponds to be used for aesthetic development purposes. In doing so, runoff effluents would be diverted past the regional drainage areas into use for stream restoration and local aesthetics.
